Three books that will change your life!
In this video, I talk about the three books that I have been reading that really make a huge difference.
The three books mentioned:
The One Thing – Gary Keller
Simplify to Amplify. This really does come from the book. In this book Gary Keller gets you to look at “What Is Your One Thing”. What is your one thing at work? What is your one thing in your relationship? What’s the one thing you really want to focus on? There are even some great quotes in the book for example; “When you make doing what matters most a priority is when your will power is higher” He suggests that you do the thing that is most important to you FIRST. When we treat it as a priority and do it first, we do it better! This is about keeping it to your agenda.
Life Lessons From A Brain Surgeon – Dr. Rahul Jandil
Dr Jandil talks about the brain, neuroplasticity and the things he has seen as a brain surgeon that can apply to all of us. It’s all about the brains ability to re-wire itself. How we can build new neural pathways and new ways of being. He talks a lot about how to keep our brains healthy. How we can use our memory, boost our memory and control stress. Things he really helped me to do was look at intermittent fasting and why we do that and how it works. He talks about how IF helps us cognitively and what we can do to improve our overall memory.
The 5 Second Rule – Mel Robbins
She talks about how when we think about doing something we talk ourselves out of it. So many times in our lives we consider doing something and between that moment where we think we have been able to stop ourselves doing it. What Mel suggests that we do is when we make that decision to do something, we count down 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and then we do it. You take that first step and do it. Don’t get into that tussle in your brain where you’re giving yourself excuses. We can apply this to every part of our life and kick procrastination.
